What is the date, time, and location of the book festival?

Is the festival free to the public?
Yes, the festival is free and open to the public.
Q: Will there be activities for all ages?
A: Yes, the festival will feature activities and entertainment suitable for all ages, including book readings, book signings, book giveaways, panel discussions, a live DJ, children’s activities, and more. We are working on the final event agenda now. I will be released soon.
How much does it cost for authors, booksellers, and food vendors to register?
Registration fees vary based on vendor type: - Authors/Book Sellers (Non-VIP): $250 - VIP Authors/Book Sellers: $300 - Food Truck Vendors: $350
How do I register as a vendor or author?
Vendors and authors can register through our registration website via EventBrite, where they can complete an online application and submit payment. The EventBrite URL is HERE.
What is included with the vendor registration fee?
Registration includes a table and two chairs.
Are there deadlines for vendor registration?
Yes, early registration ends on December 15, 2024. Late registration is available until January 15, 2025, with a $50 late fee.
Can I choose my booth/table location?
Booth/table locations are randomly assigned by festival staff and volunteers.
What time can vendors set up on the day of the event?
Vendor setup start and setup end times are as follows: Food Truck Vendors - Start: 7:30 am, End: 9:30, Authors/Booksellers - Start: 8:30 am, End: 9:30 am
Is parking available for vendors and attendees?
Yes, off-street and street parking is available nearby for both vendors and attendees. Specific parking instructions will be provided closer to the event date.
What happens if it rains?
The festival is indoors. The event will proceed rain or shine.
Are there any restrictions on what food vendors can sell?
Yes, food vendors must adhere to local health and safety regulations and cannot sell items that conflict with other approved vendors.
Can authors sell their books directly to attendees?
Yes, authors are encouraged to sell their books and interact directly with readers. Authors are responsible for handling their own sales transactions.
Are vendors responsible for charging and remitting sales taxes?
Yes. Vendors who will be selling items need to register for a free Louisiana sales tax account number, even if you are from out of state. For info regarding fairs and festivals, please go to this Dept. of Revenue web page.
Can I bring additional staff or assistants to help with my booth/table?
Yes, each vendor can bring up to two additional staff members at no extra charge.
How will the event be promoted?
The festival will be promoted through social media, local media outlets, flyers, and partnerships with community organizations. We also encourage vendors to promote their participation.
Are there sponsorship opportunities available?
Yes, businesses can sponsor the event at different levels, with benefits including logo placement on promotional materials, special recognition during the event, and premium booth placement.
Will there be Wi-Fi available at the event?
Wi-Fi WILL NOT be available for vendors and attendees.
How do I stay updated on event details?
